World Coffee Champions 2024 - Celebrating Excellence in Copenhagen

The World of Coffee trade show in Copenhagen, Denmark, recently concluded with the crowning of four new world coffee champions for 2024. Sanctioned by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA), these championships recognize exceptional talent and innovation in various coffee disciplines. A total of 86 competitors vied for top honors in the World Latte Art, World Coffee in Good Spirits, World Coffee Roasting, and Cezve/Ibrik Championships. Notably, no competitors from the United States made it to the finals this year.

The winners are as follows: TaiYang Liu from China won the World Coffee Roasting Championship; Yi-Chen Xie from Taiwan took home the World Latte Art Championship title; Seung Chan Wi from South Korea triumphed in the World Coffee in Good Spirits Championship; and Jordan Tachnakian from France emerged victorious in the Cezve/Ibrik Championship. These new champions join the winners of the earlier competitions in the event series, including Martin Wölfl of Austria (World Brewers Cup), Dionatan Almeida of Brazil (World Cup Tasters Championship), and Mikael Jasin of Indonesia (World Barista Championship).
