Woh Kee Coffee Factory Closes After 80 Years - A Legacy Ends

Woh Kee Coffee Factory, a beloved institution in Ipoh, Perak, will be closing its doors by mid-June after more than 80 years in operation. Founded in the 1930s by Mr. Foo Woh Cheong, the factory started small, roasting coffee in-house before expanding to larger-scale production. The business has been passed down through three generations, providing its signature blends to coffee shops and enthusiasts. Despite the factory's adaptation from wood to gas roasting and continual growth, the absence of a new generation to take over the business has led to its closure. The owners and staff, now aged, plan to enjoy the fruits of their labor. The store at 70, Jalan Treacher Selatan, Kampung Kuchai, Ipoh, will remain open until mid-June for those wishing to visit one last time. The family will retain the property for future use. We extend our best wishes to the Woh Kee family and staff for their future endeavors.
