Volcafe lands $60 million from IFC and Absa to bolster East Africa's coffee sector. The funds will support over 75,000 farmers, improve market access, and promote sustainable practices. This initiative aims to uplift the region's coffee industry, vital for millions of livelihoods. Besides financial aid, Volcafe will provide training on sustainable production and agronomy through its Volcafe Way program. The funding will also facilitate the purchase of coffee cherries and green coffee beans, enhancing the supply chain. By teaming up with The Biodiversity Consultancy, Volcafe will align with global biodiversity standards to ensure environmentally conscious operations.
