United Airlines Takes Cold Brew Coffee to New Heights

United Airlines is adding illy's cold brew coffee to its in-flight menu starting July 1, allowing passengers to enjoy this popular beverage while traveling. The cold brew, brewed for 12 hours and sealed for freshness, will be available on flights longer than 300 miles for $6 per can. Ahead of the official launch, travelers on red-eye flights between New York/Newark and Los Angeles or San Francisco can get a sneak peek. United’s Managing Director of Hospitality Programs, Aaron McMillan, emphasizes the beverage's appeal for keeping fliers energized. Jack Edwards, illy’s North America President, is thrilled about the partnership, seeing it as a way to share the premium illy experience with more people. The rising popularity of cold beverages is evident, with Starbucks reporting that cold drinks made up 75% of summer sales in 2023. Other travel brands, like Chase Sapphire Lounges, are also incorporating cold brew into their offerings, highlighting a growing trend in the travel industry.
