Step into History - Blue Heron Tea & Coffee Revives 1940s Charm in Mount Kisco

Blue Heron Tea & Coffee in Mount Kisco offers a vintage-inspired experience that transports visitors back to the 1940s. Opened by business partners Matthew Paratore and John Mullen, the café occupies a building erected in 1930 and showcases a '40s style interior complete with a 1905-patented Victoria Arduino espresso machine, polished hardwood floors, and a pressed-tin ceiling. Paratore, with a background in NYC’s fashion industry and vintage-style eateries, and Mullen, who has experience in real estate and seafood business, have curated a menu emphasizing tea. The café offers 36 organic whole-leaf teas including black, green, oolong, white, and herbal varieties, along with unique blends like Blue Bellini and Savannah Sunrise. Despite the emphasis on tea, coffee lovers will find specialty, single-origin, and Fair Trade coffees from Sumatra, Mexico, Ethiopia, Costa Rica, and Colombia. The café also features seasonal drinks, regionally-made baked goods, and a cold brew growler program. Blue Heron Tea & Coffee provides a nostalgic yet contemporary spot for both tea and coffee aficionados, complete with barista-crafted drinks and kid-friendly options.
