Snapchill Recalls Canned Coffee Products Over Botulinum Toxin Risk

Snapchill has initiated a voluntary recall of all its canned coffee products due to the potential presence of the deadly botulinum toxin. The recall, announced on June 17, affects all products within their expiration date and was prompted by a discovery that Snapchill's current manufacturing process could allow the growth of the toxin in low acid canned foods. The FDA released a comprehensive list of the affected products, which are sold under various roaster and brand names in metal cans ranging from 7 to 12 oz. Consumers can identify the recalled items by checking for "produced and distributed by Snapchill LLC" or "Snapchill Coffee" labels. Botulism, a rare but potentially fatal form of food poisoning, can cause symptoms like general weakness, dizziness, double vision, and trouble speaking or swallowing. Snapchill was notified by the FDA that their manufacturing process was not properly filed, leading to the recall. No illnesses have been reported, and Snapchill is working to meet FDA requirements. Consumers are advised to destroy or return the products for a refund.
