Sightglass Coffee Expands to Berkeley with New Café Opening

A new café by Sightglass Coffee is set to open in Berkeley on May 7, 2026. This marks the first new café for the brand in six years and its first location in the Bay Area in nearly a decade. The café will be situated at 2169 University Ave., within UC Berkeley’s Helen Diller Anchor House, which supports housing and scholarships for transfer students. The opening will introduce the Grizzly Peak Blend, a Regenerative Organic Certified® coffee, with part of the sales supporting the Edible Schoolyard Project.

• The café aims to create a welcoming space for students and faculty, enhancing community engagement.

• It will feature a curated food program with offerings from local favorites like Sunday Bakeshop and George’s Donuts & Merriment.

• Designed by Lundberg Design, the café reflects a commitment to modern architecture and thoughtful community integration.

This opening is significant as it represents a renewed commitment to the Bay Area coffee scene and aligns with Sightglass's mission of social responsibility and community support. By fostering connections and providing quality coffee, the café will serve as a hub for interaction and collaboration among students and locals.
