Reviving History - Cleveland's Zion Lutheran Church Transforms Old School

Zion Lutheran Church in Cleveland is breathing new life into its century-old, long-vacant school building on Prospect Avenue. The church's vision is to create a vibrant hub for local college students by transforming the building into a coffee shop and campus ministry. Pastor Mike Wallace, leading the project, emphasizes the importance of preserving the building's historic character while updating it for modern use. The renovation includes refurbished creaky floors and new windows, with future plans for a playroom, study room, and coffee house on the first floor. The church aims to offer a welcoming space for both believers and non-believers, fostering community and spiritual growth. Plans also include an auditorium for sports and events, and eventually, a Lutheran fraternity with dormitories. With over $100,000 already raised, the project is set to open by fall, providing a valuable resource and gathering space for students from nearby universities.
