After several failed attempts since 2018 to redevelop the building at 6330 W. North Ave, a successful proposal in 2023 will transform the space into Idyll Coffee Roasters. The project is led by two couples, Karen Kurgan and Peter Sohnle, and Dave and Amy Tamburrino, who aim to create a coffee shop, roasting facility, and community hub. The building, once an office space, will undergo significant renovations to support this new vision, focusing on sustainable practices and repurposed materials. With extensive experience in the coffee industry and local roots in the area, the team plans to open Idyll Coffee in spring 2025. They also intend to support community initiatives and promote education about coffee sourcing and preparation.
