Record-Breaking Coffee Auction - GW-01 Sells for Over $30,000/kg

A historic coffee auction took place at the Best of Panama, where a record lot was sold for an astonishing US$30,204 per kilogram. This lot, known as GW-01, features the Washed Geisha variety grown by Hacienda La Esmerelda in Panama. The auction attracted significant attention and resulted in a total sale of US$604,080 for the 20-kilogram lot. The winning bidder, Julith Coffee from Dubai, emerged victorious after a competitive series of 549 bids.

• Lot GW-01 is the highest scoring Washed Geisha in Panama, achieving a score of 98/100.

• The previous record for a Washed Geisha was US$10,013 per kilogram, set in 2024.

• Hacienda La Esmerelda also sold other high-scoring lots, including a Natural Geisha for US$23,608 per kilogram.

• The total auction value exceeded US$2.8 million, with an average price of US$2861.20.
