Radio Coffee & Beer is set to launch its third location in Central East Austin in late summer 2024, taking over the space formerly occupied by Try Hard Coffee at 1115 East 11th Street. This expansion is a result of Jon French, Try Hard's owner, offering the lease and equipment to Radio's co-founders, Greg and Jack Wilson. The new location, named Radio Rosewood, will feature coffee, espresso drinks, cocktails, and an extended food menu inspired by their house food truck, Shortwave Diner. Unlike their other locations, Radio Rosewood will not have food trucks or a live music stage but will host DJ events. The Wilsons are focused on offering affordable drinks and enhancing their cocktail and espresso offerings. The first Radio opened in South Lamar in 2014, followed by Radio East in 2023. Try Hard Coffee had been operating in the space since 2020 but closed in April 2023 due to financial issues. The neighborhood will also welcome Paperboy’s new pizzeria, Loudmouth, and a new location for Cosmic Coffee.
