Starbucks has introduced a pork-flavored coffee, the "Abundant Year Savory Latte," in its Chinese Starbucks Reserve stores to celebrate the Lunar New Year. This bold fusion combines Dongpo Braised Pork Flavor Sauce with espresso, steamed milk, and is garnished with pork breast meat. The drink, priced at 68 yuan ($9.45), reflects the traditional New Year custom of eating meat for prosperity and aims to blend savory and sweet flavors. Starbucks' innovation comes as China leads as the world's largest branded coffee market, surpassing the United States. Despite the novelty, the pork latte has received mixed reactions on social media, with some intrigued by the concoction while others remain skeptical of the taste and price. In addition to the latte, Starbucks also introduced other festive flavors such as a jujube macchiato and an almond tofu macchiato.
