Neumann Kaffee Gruppe (NKG) has launched the NKG Verified initiative as part of its commitment to a sustainable coffee industry. This program bridges the gap between coffee growers and buyers, ensuring traceable and ethically-sourced coffee. Initially launched in Brazil in 2021, NKG Verified has expanded to 10 countries, impacting over 30,000 farmers. It adheres to strict criteria, including environmental standards, fair labor practices, and continuous improvement. The initiative aligns with the Global Coffee Platform’s Coffee Sustainability Reference Code, providing stakeholders with a standardized framework for sustainable coffee production. Each shipment under NKG Verified comes with detailed sustainability reports and transaction certificates, ensuring transparency. NKG Bloom, another initiative, focuses on improving the livelihoods of smallholders. Both programs support the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and help buyers meet legal requirements like the German Supply Chain Act and the EU's Deforestation-Free Products Regulation. NKG aims to continue expanding these initiatives, fostering long-term sustainability and resilience in the coffee industry.
