New Partnership to Boost Climate Resilience for Coffee Farmers

Fairtrade International and coffee&climate (c&c) have teamed up to support smallholder coffee farmers in adapting to climate change and promoting sustainable farming practices. This collaboration aims to enhance the resilience of coffee production systems while improving the livelihoods of farming communities. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed by key leaders from both organizations, marking the beginning of a partnership that will last until December 2026.

• The collaboration will focus on the c&c toolbox, a web app offering practical solutions for coffee farmers.

• It aims to expand the app to more coffee-producing countries in Latin America and East Africa.

• The goal is to reach at least 10,000 new farmers with climate-smart techniques.

• More than 139,000 coffee farming households have already benefited from c&c’s training since its inception in 2010.

This partnership is significant as it combines technology with sustainable agriculture, addressing the urgent challenges posed by climate change. By empowering farmers with the right tools and knowledge, both organizations are paving the way for a more sustainable coffee industry, benefiting not just the farmers but also the environment and consumers.
