A new Dutch Bros Coffee shop is coming to Crystal Lake, Illinois, after the City Council approved its plans. This location will be one of the first in Northern Illinois. The coffee shop will be built in a former bank building, alongside another retail space, possibly for LensCrafters. Although the Planning and Zoning Commission initially had concerns about traffic and the size of the site, the City Council gave their unanimous support.
• The new building will be about 4,388 square feet, with Dutch Bros occupying over 1,300 square feet.
• There will be space for 29 stacking cars and 29 parking spots, ensuring smooth traffic flow.
• Developers made design changes to the building to match local aesthetics, removing the blue tower.
• The site will only have one access point, which is off Heritage Drive, to minimize traffic issues.
This development is significant as it represents a shift from less desirable businesses, like car washes, to more community-friendly options. It also marks the expansion of Dutch Bros in the Chicago area, bringing new job opportunities and a vibrant coffee culture to the region.
