A new coffee shop, West Street Coffee & Tea, has opened in Amherst, aiming to fill a gap in high-quality coffee options between Atkins Corner and downtown. Chris Rollins, the owner and an Amherst resident, recognized the community's need for a coffee spot after hearing complaints from locals. The shop officially opened in early October, after a long planning phase that included setbacks from the pandemic.
• The shop offers coffee from Fogbuster Coffee Works, with four varieties available.
• A selection of teas, pastries from Lemon Bakery, and light fare like grilled cheese and avocado toast are also on the menu.
• The interior features cozy seating, bookshelves, and a dedicated workspace for customers.
• Rollins plans to expand the menu with soups and possibly paninis as demand grows.
This new establishment is important for the community as it provides a gathering place for residents and commuters. It also supports local businesses and offers a much-needed social hub in the area.
