Dallas creative Kim Palacios has seamlessly merged her passions for photography and coffee by opening Khroma Coffee in Deep Ellum. This unique café, housed within JEM Studios, offers a cyberpunk-inspired ambiance with a black, gray, white, and metal décor. Palacios's intent was to create a welcoming space reminiscent of her family's hospitable home. The menu, priced under $6, reflects her Hispanic heritage with ingredients like cinnamon and condensed milk. Specialties include a 16-ounce iced charcoal latte that combines condensed milk, activated charcoal, oat milk, and honey, and a velvety affogato served in a metal martini glass with ice cream, honey, and espresso.
Khroma Coffee is not just about drinks; it's a hub for creativity, where patrons can network and get inspired. During a visit, patrons enjoyed sweets like blueberry muffins and cinnamon buns, and even an impromptu DJ set. Palacios aims for Khroma to be a sacred, low-lit space where everyone, not just photographers, can appreciate the unique vibe and find inspiration.
