Paired with $98,750 in local matching funds, this investment aims to restore an older building and revitalize the area. Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of Commerce David Toland emphasized the grant's role in fostering economic growth, community vitality, and improved quality of life in rural Kansas. This is Kearny County's first Commercial Rehabilitation grant, marking a significant milestone in local development efforts. The renovation project not only promises to boost the local economy but also aims to serve as a catalyst for future improvements and investments. The coffee shop will provide a new dining option and a welcoming gathering space, enhancing the appeal of downtown Deerfield.
