JoyJolt Glass Coffee Mugs Recalled After Dozens of Injuries

Hundreds of thousands of JoyJolt glass coffee mugs have been recalled following reports that they break when filled with hot liquids, posing significant burn and laceration hazards. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced that 580,000 JoyJolt Declan Single-Wall Glass Coffee Mugs, imported by MM Products Inc. from China, are affected. The recall follows 103 incidents where mugs broke at the base, resulting in 56 injuries, including 35 burns and 21 cuts, with some injuries requiring surgery or stitches. Sold between September 2019 and May 2022 on Amazon and the JoyJolt website, the mugs retailed for $20 to $25 for a set of six. Consumers are advised to stop using the mugs immediately and contact MM Products for a full refund. JoyJolt has made a voluntary recall registration form available online and offers prepaid shipping labels for returns. The company emphasized that the safety of their customers is a top priority and noted that their current double-wall glass mugs are not part of the recall.
