Huey’s Coffee Expands with New Location in Urbana, Honoring Veterans

A new coffee shop, Huey’s Coffee, has opened in Urbana, Illinois, founded by brothers Will and Sam Burrows in partnership with Scott Glover. The shop is inspired by a Vietnam War helicopter and aims to honor veterans while providing a unique coffee experience. This location is the first outside Texas, with plans for more expansions across the country.

• The Burrows brothers started Huey’s Coffee in 2021 after enjoying their initial coffee shop experience.

• The Urbana shop features a static model of a Bell UH-1 Huey helicopter, serving as a memorial to local Vietnam veterans.

• The shop will employ 25 to 30 people and operate daily with extended hours.

• Plans include displaying steel plates that tell stories of the Vietnam War and honor local fallen soldiers.

This new coffee shop not only provides a community gathering space but also serves as a tribute to veterans, fostering a sense of remembrance and connection in Urbana. As the brand grows, it aims to create a model for aspiring coffee shop owners nationwide.
