Jen and Jason Howard, franchise owners, moved to the Dayton region five years ago from Arizona, driven by a love for coffee and a dream of opening their own coffee shop. With their children almost out of high school, the timing felt perfect to launch Biggby Coffee in Kettering. The family-run business features their 20-year-old son as manager, 18-year-old daughter as a shift lead, and 16-year-old daughter as a barista. Jen, a nurse for 13 years, discovered Biggby five years ago and became a fan, especially of the Sweet Foam Cold Brew Avalanche. The coffee shop opened on June 18 and offers various promotions, including half-off “bragels,” free tumblers with a beverage purchase, and donations to local charities like Shoes 4 the Shoeless. The shop aims to be a community hub, offering a lounge, study pods, outdoor seating, and a drive-thru. Their mission aligns with Biggby’s mantra: “Love People, Love Coffee.” Future plans include opening additional locations in nearby cities like Beavercreek or Centerville.
