A new survey by Clever Real Estate identified Houston as the worst coffee city in the United States, stirring up discontent among local coffee shop owners. The survey evaluated the top 50 cities on factors like cappuccino prices, the number of coffee shops and roasters per capita, and Yelp reviews. Despite its ranking, Houston coffee enthusiasts defend the city's coffee culture, emphasizing quality over quantity. Local coffee businesses consider the survey's results as motivation to elevate Houston's reputation in the coffee scene. Houston's significant role as an importer of high-quality coffee beans through the Port of Houston further challenges the survey's findings. Other Texas cities, San Antonio and Dallas, also ranked among the nation's ten-worst, while Austin was rated much higher.
