Two neighbors in Boise are turning a derelict building into a vibrant community space. Sarah Keck and Laurie Pearman, who bonded over a shared vision, have nearly completed their coffee house, Common Ground Coffee & Market. Located in a 1950s-era storefront on W Ustick Rd, the site had been vacant for six years. Despite budget setbacks, community support helped them exceed their crowdfunding goal, raising $23,000. The space will offer coffee, light bites, and a small market with local staples. With decor inspired by the movie Nacho Libre, they aim to create a welcoming neighborhood spot. The venue is set to open by the end of May, with plans for future community events.
