Yellow Dog Coffee Roasters, named after a family dog, is set to open a new commercial space in Manahawkin, New Jersey. The roastery, founded by police officer David Smithman, started in his home. Now, it’s moving to a proper storefront at 420 North Main St. Smithman plans to open a full coffee bar and expand his offerings. The business already sells over 10 blends online and has a mobile coffee truck, the Coffee Can. Smithman’s passion for coffee roasting began during overnight patrols. He values manual roasting for its quality and personal touch. The new space will allow him to serve even more coffee lovers.
