Introduced in April 2023, the CVA is grounded in extensive user-perception research and aims to reshape industry standards. By moving these tools online, coffee professionals and enthusiasts can now critically assess coffee quality and value more efficiently, fostering a more informed and collaborative coffee community. Tastify, an online coffee cupping and database management platform, offers features such as automatic score calculation and real-time note-sharing. Meanwhile, CatadorCVA provides an intuitive system for recording and submitting cupping data, maintaining offline functionality, and enabling easy sharing of cupping session reports. Both platforms aim to streamline data collection and enhance cross-stakeholder collaboration, ultimately benefiting roasters and producers. Furthermore, the digital evaluation opens doors for future research and industry trend predictions, as anonymized data can inform the community about specialty coffee behaviors and trends.
