Detroit Coffee Week, happening from July 22-27th, is a week-long celebration that aims to bring together coffee enthusiasts, local businesses, and coffee professionals. Organized by Dessert Oasis Coffee Roasters in collaboration with Claudio Martinez from SoFlo Coffee Collective, the event will feature a variety of activities including tech classes, importer cuppings, latte art classes and throwdowns, signature drink competitions, and barista field days. Notable highlights include tech classes with Black Rabbit, a latte art class sponsored by Planet Oat, and a signature drink competition with a trip to Costa Rica as the grand prize. Industry discussions will cover topics such as diversity and inclusivity, branding and marketing in specialty coffee, and responsible coffee buying. With support from the US chapter of SCA and a host of sponsors, Detroit Coffee Week aims to foster networking, learning, and celebration among coffee lovers from near and far. The event will take place across various locations including Dessert Oasis Coffee Roasters, Madcap Coffee in Detroit, and Dozer Coffee in Ann Arbor.
