Memphis-based coffee brand Cxffeeblack, recently winning the Notable Roaster award, is making waves with its unique approach to expansion. Foregoing traditional crowdfunding platforms, they’ve chosen WeFunder, allowing their community to gain actual equity in their business. This aligns with their mission to make coffee "Black again" and to share the success with those who've supported them. Their first physical location, set to open in September, will not only feature a cafe and roasting space but will also serve as the hub for their Barista Exchange program. The program is an initiative that fosters cross-cultural training between American and African baristas. With their crowdfunding campaign nearing $70,000, Cxffeeblack is offering a piece of their growing enterprise to early investors, further strengthening their community-centered ethos.
