Craftsman Coffee - From Vintage Van to Vibrant Café

After four years of cruising around Pacifica, California, the Craftsman Coffee vintage 1961 Citroën HY van has found a permanent home in the company's first brick-and-mortar café. Nestled in a 900-square-foot space just two blocks from the ocean, the iconic van now serves as the centerpiece bar, equipped with high-end coffee gear like La Marzocco Linea Mini espresso machines. Co-founders Judy and Kirk Hayes have created a welcoming atmosphere with a blend of modern furniture, leafy plants, and a vintage Pac-Man arcade game. The design emphasizes openness and flexibility, allowing for a communal vibe where neighborhood friends can connect. The Hayeses transitioned from a coffee cart and pop-ups to a full-time business, driven by a passion for classic vehicles and quality coffee. The café supports online sales and a wholesale roasted coffee business, working with Izzy Fraire at the 444 roastery in Oakland to maintain their unique coffee profiles. Open for three months now, Craftsman Coffee has been warmly received by the community, embodying a mission to offer delicious, approachable coffee while fostering human connection.
