Covour Coffee Brings Specialty Brews to Palo Alto

A new specialty coffee shop, Covour Coffee, has opened in Palo Alto, founded by the husband-and-wife team Marc Sayeed and Gia Salah, who are also wedding photographers. They soft-opened the cafe on May 28 and plan a grand opening in late June. Covour Coffee offers unique lattes such as burnt honey, dirty ube, pandan, and tiramisu, alongside traditional coffee drinks, teas, and baked goods from local bakeries. They chose Midtown Palo Alto to fill the void left by the closure of Philz Coffee due to a fire. Partnering with their photographer, Willson Voong, the couple aims to bring high-quality coffee to the area. Covour Coffee roasts its Colombian fair trade beans and plans to expand its roasting capabilities by mid-June. Their goal is to eventually open multiple locations and sell their roasted beans in stores like Whole Foods. The cafe is located at 2706 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto, and operates Monday through Sunday with varying hours.
