Coffee Shop Patrons in Frequent Gaze Shift

The peculiar phenomenon of coffee shop patrons habitually looking up every 25 seconds has been observed at the Eager Legume coffee shop in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. According to sources, customers, including regular patron David Stephanidies, have made a collective decision to glance around the coffee shop at regular intervals, often getting distracted by trivial matters such as someone entering the shop or an employee watering plants. The owner, Leslie Mosko, finds this behavior satisfying, as it reminds her why she got into the business. Café sociologist Audrey Zhang views this behavior as a desire to foster connection and community while struggling to stay focused in the moment. In my opinion, this phenomenon is a reflection of our increasingly fragmented attention span, where we crave human connection but are unable to sustain it for more than a few seconds.
