Coffee Island Expands to Hong Kong, Eyes Further Global Growth

Greece's largest coffee chain, Coffee Island, has made its debut in East Asia with a new store at the K11 Art Mall in Hong Kong. The launch event featured Managing Director Panagiotis Konstantinopoulos, who highlighted the brand's specialty coffee offerings. This expansion marks a significant milestone in Coffee Island's 2024 growth strategy, which aims to form strategic partnerships and increase its international footprint. Founded in Patras in 1999, Coffee Island operates 458 locations in Greece and 53 internationally, generating €34.7 million ($38 million) annually. The Hong Kong coffee market is a competitive blend of local and international brands, with a strong specialty coffee segment. The city is home to notable names such as NOC Coffee Co., % Arabica, and Blue Bottle Coffee. According to World Coffee Portal, Hong Kong's branded coffee shop market has over 730 outlets and is expected to grow to more than 820 by 2028. Coffee Island joins other prominent brands at the K11 Art Mall, including Starbucks and The Matcha Tokyo.
