Out-of-home coffee drinking has reached its highest level since early 2020, coinciding with the upcoming National Coffee Day. Recent polling shows that a majority of Americans view coffee positively in terms of health benefits. The National Coffee Association (NCA) conducted a study revealing that while home remains the top spot for coffee enjoyment, many consumers also appreciate coffee outside their homes.
Key findings include:
• 81% of coffee drinkers consume coffee at home, while 36% do so out-of-home.
• 51% believe coffee is beneficial for health; 66% think it enhances mental focus.
• Specialty coffee consumption is at a 13-year high, with a notable rise in non-espresso drinks.
• Cold brew is particularly popular, with a 30% increase in consumption since January 2024.
This trend highlights the growing appreciation for coffee as a staple in American life, not just as a beverage but as a source of health benefits and social interaction. As coffee continues to thrive, it reinforces its position as a beloved part of daily routines.
