Celebrating Community - VA Coffee Hour Marks Its First Anniversary

The VA Medical Center in White River Junction, Vermont, celebrated the first anniversary of its weekly coffee social, designed to help combat loneliness among veterans. This initiative provides a nonclinical, welcoming space for veterans from all military branches to build connections and share experiences. The event, held every Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the VA cafeteria, underscores the importance of community and ongoing social interaction for veterans, many of whom like James Hunt, live alone and value the regular camaraderie. The program was praised for its informal setting which encourages more veterans to participate and make new friends.
