Car Crashes Into Edgewood Coffee Shop Days Before Opening

Jessica George, co-owner of Spigolo, was shocked to find her soon-to-open coffee shop damaged by a car crash early Thursday morning. She discovered the incident through multiple missed calls and text messages informing her of a vehicle that had lost control and smashed into the building. The crash occurred around 1:30 a.m., causing significant damage to the structure, which George and her partner, Ben Blackmore, were leasing from Steiner Realty Inc. Fortunately, the driver and passenger of the vehicle were unharmed. Despite the setback, George remains optimistic and plans to rebuild, even organizing a fundraiser event to coincide with Edgewood Community Day. The shop, named Spigolo, meaning "corner" in Italian, is situated in a prime location with high foot and vehicle traffic. George praised Steiner Realty for their swift response and is awaiting assessments from building experts to determine the full extent of the damage. Though the opening will be delayed, George is determined to move forward and bring Spigolo to life.
