Caffeine Craze - Is Your Coffee Habit Healthy?

Caffeine, the world's second-most consumed beverage ingredient, may not be as harmful as some believe, with research suggesting several health benefits. Studies have shown that moderate coffee consumption can lead to reduced risks of cardiovascular disease, lower body fat, and a decreased chance of developing type 2 diabetes. Additionally, caffeine has been found to potentially protect against Alzheimer's disease, improve liver health, and enhance mood and group task performance. However, excessive intake can lead to anxiety, headaches, and in extreme cases, caffeine overdose, with pregnant women advised to limit their caffeine consumption due to risks of miscarriages and low birth weights. Overall, for the non-pregnant population, coffee can be enjoyed with little concern for long-term health impacts.
