Café Mulé Bids Farewell to Beloved Mascot Richard

Café Mulé, known for its trailside coffee service in the Boise Foothills, is preparing to say goodbye to its cherished pack mule, Richard. Founded by Army Special Forces veteran Matt Bishop in 2016, the company has been a community favorite, with Richard playing a key role. Recently, it was announced via GoFundMe that Richard has been diagnosed with aggressive cancer and will soon pass away. The fundraising campaign, which has already surpassed its $7500 goal, aims to find a new mule, Richard II, to join the team. Bishop recounts his recent encounter with a yearling mule named Scotty, who shares many of Richard's endearing traits. The funds raised will be used to secure a suitable replacement to continue Café Mulé’s mission of community-focused service. The company remains committed to maintaining its strong community ties and ensuring Eugene, their donkey, has a new companion to carry on Richard's legacy.
