Biggby Coffee Owner Raises Prices Amid Rising Operational Costs

Gary Dible, owner of four Biggby Coffee locations in northwest Ohio, is raising prices due to increased operational costs. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, costs for essentials like espresso beans have surged, with a box of six bags rising from $100 to $180. Dible has resisted raising prices since the pandemic, implementing only one slight increase until now. However, to manage inflation and offer competitive wages, he will hike prices across his locations by 5-15% starting July 1. This decision aligns with a broader trend; according to the Ohio Restaurant & Hospitality Alliance, 91% of Ohio business owners had increased menu prices by June 2022, and 70% plan to do so again by June 2024. Despite the price increases, Dible assures that his prices remain competitive. Loyal customers like Michael Judin support the move as long as quality and service are maintained.
