Workers at the Mira Mesa location of Better Buzz Coffee have successfully voted to unionize, marking the second time in a month that employees of the popular coffee chain have organized under the name Better Buzz United. Partnered with the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 135, the union is advocating for improved wages, benefits, scheduling, and workplace safety. The union's formation is seen as a significant milestone, not just for the Mira Mesa and Hillcrest locations but as part of a larger movement aimed at enhancing working conditions for all employees within the company. Better Buzz Coffee is currently expanding rapidly across Southern California, Arizona, and Nevada, with over 20 locations. The union's efforts began in April, and organizers believe that this move will prompt the company to address the needs of its workers, who are essential to its ongoing success and growth.
