A new coffee experience has arrived in South Korea with the opening of Bacha Coffee in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam. This boutique brand, known for its rich history and premium offerings, has partnered with Lotte Department Store to bring its exclusive franchise to the country. The store spans 4,000 square feet and features a café and a retail boutique, showcasing over 200 types of packaged coffee.
• The café offers a super-premium menu, including the rare Brazilian Paraiso Gold coffee priced at ₩480,000 ($351) for a 350ml serving.
• Other beverages are priced higher than nearby competitors, with sit-in drinks at ₩16,000 ($11.70) and take-away at ₩11,000 ($8).
• The original Bacha Coffee opened in Marrakesh in 1910 but closed after WWII, only to be revived in 2019.
• Lotte plans to open two more Bacha Coffee locations in Myeongdong and Jamsil within six months.
This opening represents a significant step for Bacha Coffee in expanding its luxury brand presence in Asia. It caters to a growing market of affluent coffee lovers in South Korea, offering unique and high-quality products that stand out in a competitive landscape.
