Haraz Coffee House, a Michigan-based chain, is expanding to Austin with two new locations, bringing authentic Yemeni coffee and sweets. The new cafes will be situated in the West Campus neighborhood at 500 West Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and in Pflugerville at 801 West Wells Branch Parkway. Although opening dates are yet to be announced, anticipation is high for the unique offerings. Haraz sources its coffee beans from the Haraz Mountains in Yemen, ensuring traditional flavors like the spiced Harazi, the cardamom-infused sana’ani, and the ginger-spiced rada’ai. The menu also includes the adeni chai, available in both regular and saffron versions, as well as a variety of espresso drinks, Turkish coffee, and specialty lattes. On the sweeter side, patrons can look forward to saffron-rose milk cake, Bee Bites, and cheesecakes. The cafe emphasizes communal experiences, offering both dine-in and takeout options. Haraz founder Hamzah Nasser launched the first location in Dearborn, Michigan, in 2021, and the brand has since grown to over ten locations across five states. The Austin branches will be operated by franchisees Zeid Ayssa and Mufid Ghaleb, with future expansions planned.
